my own business as a tuk-tuk driver and a tour guide. If you want to visit Battambang,
I am very happy to take you around. I will make aunique experience of the real Cambodia.
1 Day/Full Day
- Departuretime: 8:30 AM
- Place to Pick up: From your Hotel or anywhere
- Duration : 9 to 10 hours
- Tour highlights: This full day tour is designed to anyone who wishes to see the interesting things in Battambang such as the attractions in Battambang ,real village life of Cambodia and different traditional handicrafts and experience the Local food
- We will use Tuk Tuk as the transportation but only to visit a village that we will offer you the bikes to do cycling around(If you do not fit with bikes we still can use Tuk Tuk).
- In the morning we will start to ride the Bambootrain and visit local village. In the afternoon we will go to see how the local people making different handicrafts. We will enjoy local lunch at 2pm. In the evening we will go to visit Phnom Sompov mountain and watch millions of bats flying from the cave

MORNING
- The bamboo train used to be a very useful transportation for local people. They used to use it to transport goods, animals ,rice and people after the war was ended but now it becomes a famous and fun vehicle for tourists. You will spend to ride it around an hour to go and come back from Odambang village to Osrolau village.
- We will visit a family that is in the business of making rice paper. This business and the skills of running it has been passed down through the generations. First, we will get a glimpse of how rice paper is processed before it is used to make spring rolls. The ingredients of rice papers include rice flavoring, salt and water. Wood chips and rice husk are used to create a fire.
- Rice wine is the traditional alcohol for local people. It is made from rice with yeasts and then ferment it for few days in the jar before they distill it .You will see how they make it with the traditional methods before they sell it to the local people.
- Watch the locals slice the bananas patiently into thin pieces and dry them under the sun. They make delicious dried bananas which are excellent as snacks.This is the family business so the whole family help each other to make it and sell it to the local.
- The fish paste market is a place where we see how Cambodians make this vital ingredient. Before the paste is finally ready to be eaten, it has to be stored in a big pot and preserved for many months. We will also see the locals drying other kinds of fish that come in interesting colors.
Stop 6: Making Bamboo Sticky Rice(Kro Lan)
- It is very well known in Battambang so local people eat it as a snack.You will see how they make it from the natural ingredients such as raw sticky rice,black beans,coconut and sugar before they put it in the fresh bamboo. Then it will be burned about two hours on the fire.
- It smells very good so we will let you try it if you want to get your first experience.
- After the long trip so it is time to have lunch in the town
- To visit Phnom Sompov, we may have to climb the mountain on foot. However, you have the option of getting a motorbike that means you have a driver then you just ride at the back(3$ per person) or taking a car (12$).
- Pagoda: After walking for about 20 minutes through the jungle, we will reach the middle of mountain where we will see a pagoda. It has many beautiful paintings that tell the story of the Buddha.
- Killing Cave: Many people were killed during the Khmer Rouge regime. A good number were marched up to the top of the mountain and forced into a cave. It is a very somber experience.
- Monkeys: You will see many monkeys jumping through the trees and playing on the ground.
- The beautiful views: At the top of the mountain you will see lovely scenery and the flat landscape of Battambang. You will also see extensive green rice paddies. It is truly a breathtaking sight.
Stop 12: Bat Cave/Flight
- When we arrive at the bottom of the mountain, it will be time to watch the bats take flight. It is incredible to watch an amazing and long line of bats fly out from the cave. Every evening, millions of bats fly to Tonle Sap Lake to feed on mosquitoes and insects to eat. They return to the cave before morning the next day.
- Lastly, we might see the sunset and return to the hotel.
Half-Day/ Afternoon
This half-day tour is designed for anyone who has no enough time and wants to see only the most popular attractions in Battambang.
